What an incredible night at The Tunnels was had by everyone at The Tunnels on Friday! A double whammy of 10 years of Lost Map Records (https://www.lostmap.com/) and 20 years of Interesting Music Promotions (IMP)! I was run down with a week of an ill baby, and the conditions were tough for photos but it was a fun challenge to draw out the good ones!

'L. T. Leif' got the night going with a beautiful set drawing on spirituality, the cold and barren yet bonny locales of Canada and Scotland and delivered it with a gentelness that had the audience fully wrapped up in a near silent trance. Just blissful.

'Pictish Trail' had his full band in tow for the night and it changes up the feel of his music in a lovely way compared to the studio albums.
(I'll also disclose my bias, my mate Iain from home drums for the live band and I love watching him play!)
The dreamy indie-synth-pop tunes are still there, but with a  more raw live edge that Johnny handles with his fantastic stage presence and wit, he's a funny chap who you can tell just loves making the music he does and has a blast playing it!

'Lost Maps presents Weird Wave' is the product of isolation on Eigg and an abundence of alcohol free beer. It's a summary of both Pictish Trail and Lost Map's output, opening with the lovely ethereal feeling 'The Prospect' you might think it's going to be a nice chillout album but it just uses it as a launchpad to go wherever it feels. Synth-pop, shoegaze, post-punk and a heap more genre buzzwords inbetween it always feels like the product of a group who were in tune with each other during it's creation and as a live show product it was a hoot.
Here's to the next decade from both!
