It was really cool to be back at The Cellar again after a multi-year gap, it's such a good little venue for touring bands, the crowd are close, good photo angles without getting in the way and I brought some pals along for the occasion.
Tonight we had a trio of trios who have toured together before and it's always fun seeing bands who are pals play gigs together. From Aberdeen, to Helsinki, to Dundee, the magic in music was in the Cellar!
Min Diesel - The Aberdeen legends come out from their lair of musical wonder (I assume that's where they live) for a night of tunes. The pioneers and kings of mindie-rock are always a treat to see live, a bit of grunge, mix in some frantic indie and a splash of granite city charm with three beautiful dudes and it makes for a glorious audio-soup.

Too Slow - Scotland welcomes our Finnish friends with open arms, and they brought with them some silky harmonious beats tempered in the chilly depths of the frozen north. Their 2023 EP was pretty laid back and I was ready for a nice set that washed over you, but they brought an energy with them and that particular brand of northern european cool. Really awesome to catch you!

Holy Snakes - Holy Snakes are a band defined by the live experience and in turn, they become a benchmark that you set for future bands. Every song is it's own piece to take in and enjoy - I'm nae a tecnological music expert, so might be speaking shite but- the guitar tones are just magic. I don't know what Dan does but the sound he gets from his guitar but it switches from mellow to frantic as well as he switches his vocals from smooth and soulful to a punky yell, and it's all held together with bass and drums that don't just complement but elevate.
I have known these dudes for ages, and I am always bias for my mates, but hey, I curated my friendships in my teens and twenties based on music and I like what I like and I like what my pals like.
