Vibrator - You know I love Vibrator, I write about them every time they play, and I see them play most of their gigs in town. Sharp lyrics, drums that smash you, and a guitar/bass melody that bounces from psychadelica, to surf punk, with some Dead Kennedy's in there. I got clocked singing along instead of taking photos, but damn, it's so catchy you canna help it. Pill Bugs is the EP of the year so far, check it out.

Dear John - Man, it's been an age since I caught Dear John, but I didn't forget what a show they put on. Triggers, soundscapes, melodies and some good ol' classic guitar and drums all come together to get you closing your eyes and drifting along. What two perfect opening bands for the night!

mssv - Mike Baggetta, Stephen Hodges and Mike Watt, all hugely accomplished individually over the decades, have come together to form mssv, and the result is just an alchemists dream of an acoustic potion!
I know this will be a gig that stays with me for a long time, it was a journey curated by some most excellent musicians at the helm.
They call themselves post-genre, and often I find refusal to be pigeon-holed is a category to itself but they really covered so much, it felt punky, post-punk, post-rock, touching folk, psychadelic, shoegaze and so much more. The whole of the Blue Lamp was enraptured for the set, I loved every minute.
Wish I stayed to chat, but I immediately drew a blank as to what I'd say after :) Good luck on the rest of the tour dudes, cheers for stopping by Aberdeen!
