Punch Face put on one of the best gigs of the year at Halloween, it was one of those very eclectic nights that managed to keep a cohesion to it that was just based on "it was fucking fun".

Lost Places are a band that come out only at the spookiest time of the year and it only adds to the allure, grim tales of darkness, murder and the mayhem of the season.

Hemp Fandango sing happy songs about dark shit, while wearing masks that reflect the fact it could be you, me or anyone else underneath dealing with mental health. But enough about the preamble, the songs they play are bloody good, catchy, with wide ranging influences from rock, metal and more out there noises. You'll be real happy you saw them live, and it'll make you a better more empathic person too :D

Polar Bears in Purgatory brought me back to my teenage days listening to all the punk I could consume, old school, skate, ska and whatever I could find online. Every tune they banged out in rapid procession was lively, bouncy and well crafted

Casper Heyzeus are another local one that's been on my radar but until now fate prevented me from seeing, but I was glad to catch them finally in such esteemed company.
A right cheeky bugger, jibing the audience from behind the panda sack mask all was forgotten and forgiven (almost... there were pretty harsh insinuations being thrown about o_O) when the songs started to play. Really catchy synth-rock-punk-alt-funk-jazz nonsense that rounded off a glorious night.
