Man, I had a totally unintentional summer hiatus from gigs and ... it sucked. I got a few photoshoots in with bands which was cool, but it's nae the same issit?
Deary Me kicked the night off, harking back to 90s and 00s pop punk/skate punk that got the night bouncing before the sad bois hit the stage.

Palejoy ... Well, if you've seen their promo photos of unfathomable sadness in weird locations, I probably shot them, but this was the first time I managed to catch them live. As I said on the socials, I prefer my introspective sad music more folky, a la Mountain Goats, and I admit I dinna ken any of their inspirations but damn, they really brought it live, they had a real gravitas on stage and I was really impressed.

This Familiar Smile were the headliners, up from Ayrshire on their tour and it was a pleasure to have them in town. They really bounce around emo, pop punk + Indie, tying it all together with some good laughs and grand presence. Really brought me back to my early days finding all the subgenres of punk waay back when.
